Vendor Biography

Wajeeha Shahid Mughal is a contemporary realist artist who was born in Hyderabad, Pakistan. From an early age she demonstrated an innate artistic talent and continued to bring her creative passion to fruition. From a young age she has believed, “You can create anything once you see it in your mind.” In 2017, she pursued an art education at CEAD, MUET Jamshoro and earned a Bachelor in Fine Arts. Cityscapes, tropical birds and flowers, nature scenes are all brought to life with contrasting and harmonious colors and bold compositions. As the artist explains, “I am a story teller and I welcome you to join me on this visual journey.” Her colorful paintings pay homage to her homeland. Mostly, she has worked on woodcut printmaking. Her distinctive personal style emanates joy and peace and expresses the vibrant spirit and atmosphere of the Pakistani culture. Her thesis was based on cityscapes of her hometown, Hyderabad. The progression of time redefines the antique as outdated. The rapid advancements of this era require aesthetics to be developed for its contemporaries. This notion leads her to depict traditional places of Hyderabad in a modernised style. The making of her paintings represent modern thought development of the traditional families behind those walls. She communicates the healing power of art and lifts our spirits.
