Maria Faridi is a prominent Dubai-based artist, originally from Pakistan. In her decades-spanning journey, she has become a consummate creator, well renowned for her work with Arabic calligraphy. Self-taught, Faridi began painting as a means of gratifying her artistic pursuits. Notwithstanding her educational background in business and finance, she has always been inclined towards art as a form of expression. Faridi's art is driven by spiritual inspiration of the Arabic language, and she employs contemporary and abstract art as a modern canvas. Faridi's paintings incorporate oil, acrylic, and a profusion of vibrant hues to aesthetihhcally portray the message of the words in the Arabic script.
